The primary school is divided into a separate school building and a gymnasium, separated by a newly created street that completes the generous pre-war layout of Komenský náměstí.  The school building consists of two parallel tracts of different heights, between which are sheltered schoolyards. The heart of the school is the entrance hall with a staircase. It is connected to a glazed dining hall/aula on three sides, open to the park and the schoolyard. The traditional corridors between classrooms are replaced by a residence hall, which can also be used for informal classes. The recessing of the gym into the ground allows the school hall to be easily shared with the city. The hall is joined on the south side by an outdoor sports field with covered bleachers.

The above-ground parts of the building are of all-wood construction with a glulam frame. While the school has a wooden façade, the gymnasium is clad in copper sheeting. Wood as a renewable material is also used significantly in the interiors. Green roofs then capture rainwater and help to better integrate the building into its surroundings. In particular, great emphasis was placed on the natural and safe movement of the children in the design of the entire school.

The new primary school is designed with sustainability in mind. When completed, it will become the largest wooden school building in the Czech Republic in passive standard.
