The design of the new exhibition is based on the idea of introducing Jan Eskymo Welzl, a native of Zábřeh, as a layered person: the life story of a traveler set in a broader context, both historical and socio-cultural. The exhibition is based on the interpretation of the person of Jan Eskymo Welzl in various stages of life. By creating six key themes for Welzl’s life, the visitor becomes acquainted with Welzl’s story. The intention of the exhibition is to let the visitor enter the own world of this peculiar character. We are placing a new exhibition in the attic space of the building. The attic space, as a place mysterious and hidden, here represents an analogy of the exciting and unknown world of the far north. This world is placed in a deliberate contrast with the familiar and safe world of Central Europe, which can be found in the environment of the exhibition halls of the first floor of the town house. This creates a new exhibition space, which expands the museum’s capacity and does not interfere with existing exhibition units.
