An old stone mill stands on the clearing. The mill wheel is long gone; only the gurgling of a nearby stream reminds one of its former mission. The morning silence only cuts a scream of a bird between the tall trees on the hillside, and the sun is already starting to lift the fine mist in the garden.
The empty house is waiting for its next destiny. It will help people to sleep again. For several weeks, they will find here a refuge and background. Like them, the house would have to change inside. First, it gets a new roof: fresh beams and new roofing will replace the rotten ones. Six new, perfectly sound-insulated rooms will be created in the attic – each a little different, just like the people who will sleep here. The soil at the top of the house will be determined for meditation. A large glazed dormer lets the air and light in. Temporary residents of the house will meet on the first floor, which needs to be repaired immediately afterward. In the warm room with the new furnace and under the massive wooden ceiling, they will be engaged in joint therapy or rest. Their therapists and caretaker will also live on the ground floor. Finally, the two floors will be joined by a new staircase with spa and a kitchen. A shared kitchen with a vaulted pantry will be created from today’s garage and can be accessed through the glass door from the garden. The former mill will then turn into a small home spa with swimming pool, sauna and a relaxation room.
The house is surrounded by a garden, which is adapted to therapeutic purposes. Also, a small barn will change: former sheds will be used for warehouses and workshops, while in the attic space will create another meditation place. Overnight this space will be for short guests.
